LPG Appliances
LPG appliances must be installed by a competent person in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, British Standards, Codes of Practice and National legislation. For both domestic and commercial installations, a Gas Safe Register (formerly CORGI) installer should be used.
Only LPG appliances or equipment carrying the CE mark should be used unless the appliance is outside the scope of the Gas Appliance Directive.
Open flued or flueless appliances require adequate ventilation for safe operation. On no account must air vents be restricted or blocked, as this could lead to incomplete combustion producing
Carbon Monoxide, this is toxic and could have potentially fatal consequences.
Appliances should be serviced according to the manufacturers recommendations by a competent person (i.e. Gas Safe Register (formerly CORGI) with suitable ACS qualifications), to ensure safe and efficient operation. This should be carried out at least annually.
Installing a LPG appliance is an expert job and by law, ALL gas installation businesses must register with Gas Safe Register (formerly CORGI) in order to comply with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998.

On 1st April 2009, the Gas Safe Register took over from CORGI as the official registrant of competent gas installers in Great Britain and the Isle of Mann.
As such, anyone carrying out work on gas installations or appliances must be on the Gas Safe Register. If they're not on the register, they are breaking the law and potentially putting you and your family at risk.
The Gas Safe Register is the only one you need to use - look for the yellow gas safe register triangle rather than the orange CORGI badge logo.
CalorForce installers are all members of the Gas Safe Register, and Calor ensures that contractors who carry out work on its behalf are also suitably competent and Gas Safe registered.
For more information, visit the Gas Safe Register website, where you can search for a qualified Gas Safe LPG installer in your area.
