As the UK’s leading supplier of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Calor understands the increasing pressure on farmers to produce the perfect crop, quickly and cost effectively. Therefore, the company is adding to its online farming resource by launching two new areas dedicated to the agriculture sector.
Unveiled at the Cereals 2007 exhibition in June, the additional web resource will to assist farmers and agricultural specialists allowing them to find a quick and simple solution to their LPG business needs.
‘Ask Kevin’ is an information resource area providing on the spot answers to common queries as well as a rapid, tailored response to individual questions thus reducing the need for farmers to spend valuable time researching.
Kevin Houlden, Calor’s National Sales Manager, will share his wealth of agricultural knowledge and experience via the ‘Ask Kevin’ facility responding to specific business enquiries. He says: “There are many ways that LPG can benefit farmers, from crop drying to poultry rearing. It is very difficult to answer every question that may come up about fuel supply which is why we have introduced the individual response service.”
The second improvement to the web site is the introduction of a dedicated organic section as many applications using LPG are suitable for organic farming. The new web pages will have specific information on how Calor can help organic farming businesses.
The Calor web site already contains general information about Calor in the agriculture market and how it can be used for different applications including how LPG is a cleaner burning, more environmentally friendly fuel than alternatives.
Sabrina Jackson, Calor Commercial Marketing Manager, believes the new web based facilities are an exciting development. She says: “Every business has different requirements and by creating a dedicated facility to ask specific questions on our website will provide farmers with a resource to access the right information simply.
Kevin has inspired the developments and we have been able to tap into his expert knowledge of the industry. We look forward to learning more about the types of problems farmers face which will allow us to tailor our services to them more effectively.
The new pages will be unveiled at the Cereals show on the Calor stand 516.

Notes to editors
Calor has a long standing commitment to supporting the rural community with LPG being used within a number of different applications. From crop drying, weedburning to fuelling ATV’s or forklift trucks through to the heating and catering of homes on off main gas areas.
A reliable fuel supply is essential in any business, but Calor understands that for the farming community it makes the difference between ending the year with profits or losses if the supply was not constant.
